Groom Package Checklist: What to Book Before the Wedding
A simple timeline of haircut, beard, skin and grooming steps for the groom, from a few weeks before the wedding to the morning of the event.

On your wedding day, you will be in front of cameras and family from morning to night. Good grooming does not have to be complicated, but it does need a little planning. Here is a simple timeline to follow.
3 to 4 weeks before
- Decide on your look. Collect a few reference photos for your haircut and beard, and talk to your barber about what suits you.
- Consider a trial. If you are changing your style, have a trial cut early so there is time to adjust.
- Start a simple skin routine. Cleanse, moisturize and protect your skin from the sun.
- Avoid new strong products or treatments. Anything new can cause a reaction, and you do not want to find out a day before the event.
1 to 2 weeks before
- Book your final haircut and beard shape-up. A cut a week or so before the event gives it time to settle.
- Confirm your appointment times. Wedding season is busy, so book early.
- Plan group bookings. If your brothers, friends or cousins also need grooming, arrange the same day so everyone is ready together.
2 to 3 days before
- Book a facial or a skin cleanup. It leaves skin looking fresh, but choose a gentle treatment and do not try anything new this close to the event.
- Tidy your hands and nails. Simple care makes a visible difference in photos.
- Rest and drink plenty of water. Skin and mood both look better when you are well rested.
The day before and the morning of the wedding
- Do a light trim and line-up. Sharpen your neckline and beard edges for a clean finish.
- Style your hair. Ask your barber how to recreate the look at home or on the day.
- Leave buffer time. Photos, travel and family can all run late, so do not schedule grooming at the last minute.
What to bring to your appointment
- Reference photos of your hair and beard
- Your outfit colors, so the look fits the whole picture
- The date and time of your event
- A note of any skin sensitivities
Questions to ask your salon
- How long will each service take?
- What is included in each package?
- Can we book several people at the same time?
- What should I avoid doing in the days before the event?
